The 6-foot-5, 195-pound righthander had some fireworks of his own to show the 100s of evaluators in attendance. An Oklahoma recruit, the athletic Andersen works with a loose arm swing up to a high three-quarter release point. There’s also a little rock back and shoulder tilt to gather before he unleashed a 93-95 mph fastball and supplemented it with a high-spin (2700+ rpm) slider. Even more impressive was his ability to pitch off his third-pitch changeup to lefthanded hitters. Anderson tossed two innings, allowing just one hit and struck out three against no walks.
