Game Performance

Notes

Comments

5/01/21

Was one of the leaders in an impressive offensive Game 3 showing for Chelsea. With two outs in the 1st inning and already leading 1-0, Jones quickly found himself down 0-2 to start his at-bat, but Jones took a pitch on the outer-part of the plate and sent it down the right field line for a two-RBI triple to push the lead to 3-0. Athletic skill set at 5-11, 170-pounds with loose hands and a line drive approach at the plate. Defended well throughout the series for the Hornets at 2nd base as well.

2/27/21

Is an athletic middle infielder that seemed to strive in the big moment as he came through with the go ahead single in the top of the 7th inning in the Hornets win on Saturday. Shows solid barrel control and a short, compact approach to contact with a definite middle of the field mindset. The bat path is fairly level and appears to be a line drive type hitter. Does a nice job staying inside the ball and through contact to finish. Rhythmic load of the hands and an even, balanced stance and doesn’t try to do too much in the box. Both base hits in the win were right back up the middle. Athletic ’22 to keep an eye on.

10/27/20

5-foot-11, 170-pound mature frame. Clocked a 60 time of 7.11 at the event. Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a small load, then uses a controlled stride before his swing. Bat speed was efficient, displayed simple swing plane and level finish. Found some barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Jones displayed an exit velocity of 91 mph, showing his strength and power ability. While in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 83 mph; has a natural exchange, smooth feet and sure hands. Used an-over-the-top slot with a loose arm action. Athletic player that showed a some very nice pop to the backside gap.

6/25/20

5-foot-10, 162-pound athletic frame. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.12. Starts in a balanced stance with a quick load, then uses a short stride to start his swing. Had above average bat speed and good extension on his finish. He Barreled up multiple balls during the round. Gap to gap approach. the right-handed hitter displayed an exit velocity of 93 mph, showing his strength and power ability. Above average in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 85 mph; had a clean exchange, athletic footwork and twitchy hands. Used a high ¾ slot and a short arm action.
