6-foot-1, 180-pound athletic frame. Raw during batting practice, Edwards had a max exit velocity of 96 mph. Began in an open stance with a slow load, then used a toe tap. Has efficient bat speed, short level swing plane and a front foot finish. During the round he showed some loud contact. Pull side approach. Capable in the outfield, his best throws to the infield topped out at 81 mph; has consistent footwork, and a natural exchange. Had a loose arm action and an-over-the-top slot with consistent accuracy to the base. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.92. Athletic uncommitted 2021 grad.
Slightly open stance from the right side and he showed a nice job of getting his weight back to launch the swing. Showed the ability to stay inside the ball and worked the RCF gap well with some tit in the bat path. Solid actions behind the plate and did a nice job of recovering blocked balls in the dirt. The arm strength will increase as he fills out. Hip flexibility is nice and the actions are solid. Long, lean build from this ‘21 grad.
