Starts in an athletic quiet stance with a controlled load, then uses a short stride to start his swing. Bat speed is efficient and uses flat swing plane. He found some barrels in his rounds. Line drive approach. Thompson's best exit velocity was 87 mph. Above average from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 82 mph; shows fluid footwork and a clean exchange. Showed consistent accuracy to the base with an-over-the-top slot and a long arm action.
