Cahill is a 6-foot-3 180-pound left-hander with a large frame and an athletic build. He works primarily a two pitches, mixing his 82-85 mph fastball and a 1/7 curveball with late break and depth. He used the curveball to put hitters away striking out 9 in 3 innings. Cahill works from an H ¾ arm slot with fast arm. His lack of command at times, comes from lack of repeating the arm circle, other than that his mechanics are sound with repeatable balance and rhythm. Overall Cahill is a physical LHP that projects to improve as he continues to develop.
Cahill is a 6-foot-4 180-pound LHP with an athletic build and frame. He throws from a High ¾ arm slot with a quick clean arm. He worked his fastball 83-86 up to 88 mph with late sink when everything was on time. He threw a change up with fastball arm speed at 78-81 mph with arm side run. He also threw a curveball with 1/7 break and late action. Mechanically is sound, at times his arm drags causing pitches to be up in the zone or breaking balls to spin instead of break. This is expected with Cahill being 5 months off ACL surgery. He is a 2016 graduate and is uncommitted.
