Josh Powell: SS/RHP, (2024) Russellville, AR. 5-foot-10, 143-pound lean frame. Solid at the plate, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 81 mph. Starts in an open athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed is average, exhibits a short flat swing plane and high finish. Produced some loud contact and found multiple barrels. Line drive approach. Fluid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 74 mph; showed soft consistent hands, a quick clean exchange, and rhythmic athletic feet. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Used a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot while showing consistent accuracy to the base. Solid on the mound, used a short arm action with a high ¾ arm angle while showing quick arm speed. Feel type pitcher and shows easy effort. Displays even shoulders and an athletic balance point. Lands square with an athletic finish. Threw his fastball 70-74 mph; shows control low in the zone and some action with straight movement. Had gradual action and command around the zone on his 11/5 curveball (57-60). Has control low in the zone and slight action on his straight changeup (66-69).
