Player Spotlight

Peyton Coffman: C/RHP, (2024) Russellville, AR. 5-foot-10, 185-pound solid athletic frame. Recorded a 60 time of 7.73 at the event. Solid in the box, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 89 mph. Begins in an open balanced stance with a controlled smooth load, then uses a leg kick. Had a short flat swing plane, average bat speed and good extension on his finish. He barreled up lots of balls with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Behind the plate, his best position velocity throwing to second was registered at 71 mph; showed average developing feet, sure consistent hands, and a fluid lengthy exchange. produced pop times of 2.00-2.12. Calm setup with average flexibility. Used a high ¾ slot and a long arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. Solid on the mound, showed a quick arm action and a ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed. Up-tempo type pitcher who shows some effort. Showed consistent balance point and uphill shoulders. Lands square with an upright finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 70-76 mph; has arm side command and sinking action with heavy movement. His 10/4 slider (64-64) shows late action and consistent command.

Hit: (RHH) Starts in an open balanced stance with a controlled smooth load, then uses a leg kick. Average bat speed. Good extension on his finish, short flat swing. Gap to gap approach.

Power: 89 mph exit velocity, average 76.96 mph. 65.33 mph bat speed average. 21.86 mph hand speed average.

Defense: (C) 2.00-2.12 pop times. Sure consistent hands, average developing footwork, fluid lengthy exchange. Solid. Calm setup with average flexibility.

Arm: 71 mph catcher velocity. Long arm action, high ¾ slot, consistent accuracy.

Speed: 7.73 (60-yard).

Bat speed is average, displays a flat short swing plane and level finish. Found some barrels with some loud contact. Up the middle approach. Projectable at the plate, Coffman's best exit velocity was 89 mph. Movements laterally were average. While catching, his best recorded throw to second was clocked at 63 mph; has firm hands, quick feet, and a quick exchange. Had a pop time of 2.19-2.27. Quiet setup with average flexibility. Some accuracy to the bag, used a high ¾ slot and a short arm action. Solid on the mound, showing quick arm speed he had a short arm action with a ¾ arm angle. Feel type pitcher who shows some effort. Tall balance point with even shoulders. Lands open with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 72-76 mph; showed sinking action and command around the zone.
