2023 SS Andrew Grenert (Horizon)- 6-foot-1, 166-pounds, large balanced frame, wiry athletic, projectable strength. Left-handed hitter, balanced athletic stance, neutral weight distribution, squared stance. Uses leg lift to shift weight into back side, lands square with closed front foot, early leg brace, leaning slightly back through contact. Loads barrel behind the head with knob to catcher. Mid-oppo approach, short swing with tight turn, gets on plane early with good extension. Looks to drive the baseball with some present bat speed, 92.14 exit velocity via Trackman. Uses a pre-pitch step into ready position. Fields the ball out in front with two-hands, flat back, uses a glove tap to create some rhythm. Soft hands with flat glove angle. Throws L ¾ arm slot showing ability use different angles, above average arm strength at 83mph. Made some nice plays defensively in live game action. LHH Follow.

6-foot-1 160-pounds, large projectable body with some strength & athleticism, looks the part of a future shortstop with continued progression. Shows some advanced actions with some tools that should improve a lot as he starts physically maturing and adding strength. Left-handed hitter with an advanced approach at the plate with some controlled aggressiveness. Hits from a relaxed slightly open stance, using a gathered leg lift to transfer energy to back hip. Gap to gap hitter, 88mph exit velocity off a tee. Solid round of BP hitting some balls in the low 90’s to pull side. Backed it up by hitting one of the hardest hit balls of the day into the opposite field gap in our live game action. Athletic actions in the INF with good footwork with soft hands. Ran a 7.38 60-yard dash. Left-handed hitting SS that should be followed closely.
