3/12/18 - The 6-foot-1 lefty is very thin, especially in his lower half, but has plenty of room on his frame to add much needed strength and bulk. He showed off an improved delivery and arm action from when we last saw him at the Preseason All-State Games where the slot had dropped some, causing him to push the ball uphill at times. He touched 83 on this day, sitting 79-81 with a simple, controlled delivery and a chance to pitch with both angle and plane on his fastball. His best pitch continues to be a fading 71 mph changeup that he throws with confidence and fastball arm speed. Also mixed in a sweeping 66 mph curveball with big break that was around the plate. If a velo jump is on the horizon we could potentially be looking at a Future Games candidate.
1/28/18 - Thin 6-foot-1, 160-pound frame. Some broadness in shoulders with room too add strength/bulk. Looks comfortably on the mound and shows feel for three-pitch mix. Arm slot appears to have dropped some since last look, causing him to lead with the elbow and work underneath the baseball at times. This also made his fastball flatter. Worked 77-79, T80 with his fastball that still showed some arm side run but lacked the sink we have seen previously. Changeup continues to be best pitch at 69-72 mph with fading action. Showed ability to throw sweeping 65-69 mph curveball in zone with proper rotation. Strong follow as he matures physically and works to get on top of the baseball again.
10/29/17 – Projectable 6-foot-1 160-pound frame with long limbs. Meyerson showed very well at the event and has a chance to be a high-end prospect with continued physical development. Repeats delivery well from ¾ arm slot with limited effort, good arm speed, and an athletic finish. Shows ability to pitch with rare combination of plane and angle on 78-81 T82 fastball that also flashed arm side run. Sweeping slider was consistently around the zone. 71-73 mph changeup showed good arm speed with fade and sink. This three-pitch 2020 lefty bears watching.
