Grady continues to find ways to get outs despite not necessarily overpowering hitters with velocity alone. The Arizona commit worked 87-88 mph and showed the ability to consistently attack the strike zone with a fastball that plays above its velocity thanks to his operation and pitchability. His breaking ball remains one of the more interesting components of the arsenal, generating nearly 2,800 RPM of average spin while creating quality shape. Grady's ability to sequence pitches and disrupt timing continues to make him effective against quality competition. The overall feel for pitching remains advanced for his age.

Grady Openden, a 2027 right-handed pitcher from Brophy High School, emerged as the standout arm of the weekend, showcasing advanced pitchability and command well beyond his years. Openden demonstrated the ability to throw three pitches for strikes with consistency, highlighted by a fastball that sat 85-86 mph and topped out at 87 mph, featuring impressive arm-side run. His polished approach on the mound and ability to locate his arsenal make him a high-upside prospect with significant potential. As he continues to develop, Openden is poised to become one of the top arms in Arizona’s 2027 class and will be a must-follow talent in the coming years.
