4/21/21

2022 LHP Grant Richardson (Horizon)- uncommitted, large lengthy frame, body stands out for a junior. Left-handed pitcher showed some upside. Started on the mound for Horizon against Hamilton. Used an athletic delivery with slight tuck, landing cross-body with early trunk rotation. Threw with short arm swing from a H3/4 arm slot. Command was a bit inconsistent on the day as he walked 6 batters in two innings of work but gave us a glimpse of some future potential with 3 pitches to build off. His FB worked 82-85mph with some downhill action. Threw a slurvy breaking ball that he controlled the most at times with varying shape at 69-72mph. His CH has some arm side movement at 79-80mph. Richardson is just coming back from an injury and should continue to make improvements in the near future.

10/14/18 - 6-foot-2, 170 pound projectable, broad shouldered frame. Big 12/6 curveball highlight the arsenal from Richardson at 62-64 mph. Slight rushed delivery, and shoulder tilt towards the plate hinder the big left handers upside. Fastball shows promise, but inconsistent at 72-74 mph. Change flashes promise at 68-70 mph.
