1/26/20

5-foot-11 175-pound, South Mountain CC Commit, athletic compact frame with some present strength, ran a 7.19 60-yard dash. Overall swagger and confidence in his game showed. Switch-hitter with similar approaches from both sides. Starts from a slightly open stance with feet shoulder width apart. Uses a leg-kick to help get off his back gaining some ground into footstrike. Showed a bit more body control from right side, turning barrel a little early at times from left. LD hitter that showed some ability to drive baseball. Ball carried off his bat with hard contact at 88mph. Short easy footwork in the infield, fielding the ball cleanly. 80mph arm strength across the diamond. Could make a move to 2B at the next level. Bat should continue to be followed.

1/27/19 – Uncommitted. 5’10 175-pound frame with strength through the forearms and shoulders. Starts upright with backfoot internally rotated. Pull approach with bat speed at 87 MPH. Gets into zone quickly and uses lower half explosively. Moves well side to side with quick first step. Short choppy footwork, allows for ball to be thrown when needed and staying over his feet. Good use of direction on first shuffle. Arm at 82 MPH across the diamond.

10/14/18 - 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame. Another guy who's right in the middle of football that continues to show college ability on the infield and on offense. His quiet approach in the box produces line drive contact to all fields. Posted 88 mph exit velocity and appears stronger every time we see him. Loose, easy rhythm in the box with flat path and impressive bat speed. In the field, his feet work well and he should be able to defend second or third at the next level depending on the program. Fights playing high at times. 81 mph infield velo with quick arm and slightly longer action.

6/5/18 - IF Griffen Chewning has made major strides with his game, adding significant strength to his now 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame. Chewning showed present bat speed and posted a very solid 88 mph exit velocity. Shows present strength now and keeps barrel in zone, making lots of hard contact to LCF. Can definitely defend third and possibly second base at the next level. Posted a 79 mph infield velocity and ran a 7.37 60 yard dash. Plays hard and produces in game action. Has turned himself into a potential D1 prospect.
