Body: 5-9, 200-pounds. Broad shoulders, large frame, wide bodied, some strength & durability.
Hit: LHH. Sets up in a wide base with a crouched open stance. Uses a knee turn pick up, landing square with little forward movement. Keeps his head still. Short quick load of the hands with small separation.  Works from underneath the baseball, top spinning at times. Gets out of zone early.
Power: 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. Line drive contact with a mid pull approach, showing some consistency.
Arm: Right-Handed. INF - 74 mph. Average arm with accuracy to the bag. Ability to throw from different slots with short quick release.
Defense: Short choppy footwork, plays directly to the ball. Usable hands.
Run: 7.65 runner in the 60.

10/14/18 - 5-foot-7, 180-pound frame. Athletic setup in the box, but can cut himself off at times with his stride. Solid separation and good hands allow him to still hit balls hard in the air to the left center gap. Exit Velocity (84mph) has jumped 15mph in the year since we’ve seen Alwine. Defensively, his increased athleticism (7.78 60-yard dash) has contributed to better footwork and Alwine continues to show softness in his hands. Alwine has also added significant arm strength since we saw him last, posting 76 mph velo across the diamond.

11/12/17 - 5-foot-6, 170-pound frame. Hits from relaxed, loose setup, striding slightly closed. Gets good separation and shows an advanced ability to get on plane and make solid contact to all fields. Hands and wrists work very well in swing; will drive the ball more consistently as he gets more out of his lower half. 69 mph exit velocity. Defensively, registered 68 mph infield velocity with short arm action from low ¾ slot. 8.02 60-yard dash.
