Luis Mejia, a 2026 graduate from St. Mary's Catholic High School, is a left-handed hitting shortstop and one of the top uncommitted prospects in Arizona's 2026 class. Mejia stood out at the 2023 Future Games with his high-level defensive skills, showcasing a smooth glove and strong arm up the middle, recording an infield velocity of 88 mph. At the plate, Mejia impressed with a consistent contact tool, producing a max exit velocity of 95 mph and a max distance of 357 feet, highlighting his ability to drive the ball with authority. Standing at 5-foot-11 and 168 pounds, Mejia posted a 7.20 60-yard dash, with room to improve his footspeed as he adds strength and refines his explosiveness. This blend of defensive ability, offensive potential, and projectable athleticism makes Mejia a well-rounded prospect to watch closely.

A standout at the shortstop position was 2026 grad out of Saint Mary’s high school Luis Mejia. Mejia is a left handed hitting middle infielder with high level actions in the field and in the box. Mejia is a true shortstop with length and athleticism, he has quality range side to side and an accurate 78 mph arm across the infield. During the BP portion of the day Mejia sprayed the ball with true flight to all parts of the field, which translated later in the day during game play where he shot a line drive the the opposite field for a stand up double. Mejia is a high follow for the Arizona staff as he goes into his freshman campaign.
