6-foot-1 195-pounds, large frame, strong body. Fike has made some strong improvements on the mound over the last year. We were able to see Fike earlier this summer in a workout while being monitored by our portable Trackman unit. He sat 85-87mph, topping out at 88mph with his FB from a power delivery. His average FB pitch speed was 85.9mph on the day with some natural arms side movement. His average spin rate was 1904rpm. He mixed in two breaking ball's in the low 70's with around 2000 rpm. His ability to throw strikes gave him an invitation to the Area Code Games this summer at LakePointe Sports in GA. Fike shouldn't stay uncommitted too much longer.
5/15/19
6’ 185-pound frame with present strength. Quick, short arm action provided a fastball up to 84 MPH with good running action from his ¾ slot. Slider at 71 MPH flashed as a quality pitch with hard, late bite. Change up had good fade with similar arm speed to his fastball
6/6/18 - 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame. Fike touched 80 from a ¾ arm slot from the left side. Arm appeared late getting up at times. Intriguing arm speed. Overly linear to the plate, doesn’t fully rotate into lead hip, lead leg fails to fully stabilize as a result. Spike curveball was thrown at 63-64 mph with proper spin and shape. Could be thrown harder to produce tighter spin and break. Showed feel for his change up at 71 mph with some sink. Fike also showed ability as a position player where he showed a short, efficient swing from the right side, posting a 77 mph exit velocity. Also recorded a 79 mph outfield velocity and a solid 7.15 60-yard dash, making him an intriguing follow with the combination of size and athleticism.
