6’1 205-pound frame with strength. Upright stance with hands starting at shoulder, working just below them when he loads. Toe tap to load and stay on time. Rhythm with hands, matched with lower half. Uphill swing, looking to elevate pull side. Exit velo at 88 MPH. Good timing with footwork when groundballs were hit at him or to his left. Profiles more as a 1B with lateral movement and arm strength at 81 MPH.
6/5/18 - 6-foot, 195-pound frame. At the plate Saylor used a tall, balanced, slightly open stance. Low hand set up in combination with the front arm working up into contact result in a slightly uphill swing path. Showed some bat speed and power posting an 88 mph exit velocity. Defensively profiles at a corner infield spot; 80 mph infield velocity. Positioned body and moved well. Posted a 7.29 60 yard dash. On the mound Saylor pitched at 74-76 mph with his fastball. Pitch was mostly straight with occasional fading action. 72-73 mph change up was thrown with fastball arm speed but did not differentiate much from fastball in speed. Pitch did have occasional fading action. Also flashed a 65-67 mph slider that had some depth.
1/28/18 - 6-foot, 195-pound frame with broadness in shoulders. Two-way prospect is interesting follow on mound, but combination of violence in delivery and bat speed makes him stand out more as a position player at present time. Hits from tall, slightly open setup with barrel tip and deep hand load/drop. Shows bat speed, despite inconsistent lower half in swing. Uphill path; 83 mph exit velocity. Fights playing high at times on the infield. Shows softness in hands and is comfortable throwing from multiple angles; 81 mph infield velo. Posted 7.35 60-yard dash. Shows arm speed on the mound, working 75-78, T79 with his fastball that was mostly straight. Delivery has some violence and a significant recoil at the end. Arm works. Mixed in a 67-68 mph breaking ball that he called a slider but had a big break and was more of a curveball. Also threw a sinking changeup at 71 in warmups.
