10/14/18 - 6-foot, 170-pound frame. Recent Grand Canyon commit. Rogers sat 83-84, touching 87 mph with his fastball from an arm slot that's now just above sidearm and should make life very difficult on right-handed hitters, especially if he slides to the 3B side of the rubber to increase the angle. Rogers also showed the tightest breaking ball we've seen from him, a 67-69 mph slurve that he was able to throw both in and below the zone. The 76-77 mph changeup should also give him a chance to be more than a right-handed specialist at the college level, especially when you consider his track record of success as a young varsity closer at Mountain Ridge.

6/5/18 - 6-foot, 170-pound frame. Rogers continues to increase his fastball velo a tick or two every time we see him. On this day he pounded the zone with a sinking fastball, up to 86 mph from a low 3/4 arm slot with limited effort. Rogers projects to continue adding velo and should be very tough on right-handed hitters coming out of the pen. Changeup showed promise at 75-78 mph with sinking action at its best. 69-72 mph curveball showed two-plane break. Had a productive spring, serving as the varsity closer for Mountain Ridge.

3/21/18 - The sophomore righty works as the closer for Ridge. It appears that the arm slot has dropped some since we saw him this winter, which has added some angle to his fastball, but causes him to get underneath the baseball and work uphill at times. On this day he sat 81-84 with his fastball that ran to his arm side in on RHH. Also mixed in a bigger sweeping 68 mph curveball and fading change at 73. Has a projectable, athletic body and is a definite follow on the mound.
