We got a good look at former Future Gamer Brody Murcheson. Having gotten visibly stronger, the 2026 graduates checks in at a solid 6-foot-1, 170-pounds. Offensively he's got a quick timing mechanism, but does a good job of getting his barrel through the zone, reaching a peak exit velocity of 96.9 mph and carry distance of 276 feet. His bat tends to wrap a bit and he can be steep to the ball at times, but he's got time to level out his swing. Defensively he took his reps in the infield, showcasing a 79 mph arm across the diamond while showing comfort in receiving his ground ball reps. Murcheson has done well adding strength to his frame and it'll be interesting to see how he pans out by the Fall.
The former Future Gamer put together a quality showing at the Victoria New Year Invite. Murcheson topped the leaderboard in exit velocity at 96.4 MPH. The Pirates product has simplified his swing slightly, improving his timing at the plate. Look for Brody to have a big junior season in the BCPBL.
