One of the best bullpens of the day belongs to Macdonald. The fastball has plenty of carry when up in the zone, topping out at 89.5 mph and sitting 85-87 mph. He also has the ability to spin both the fastball and the curveball, reaching 2579 rpm with the fastball and an impressive spin efficiency (97%). With the curveball, it has late downward bite in the 76-80 mph range reaching 2474 rpm. When paired well with the fastball, the curveball has the profile to be an effective swing & miss offering. The changeup, although still a developing offering, is a nice addition to the repertoire and comes in at 78-79 mph. Macdonald is a 2024 that should no longer be flying under the radar in BC.
