Good updated look at Lakusta, who was fresh off a relief outing the day prior. Now checking in at 6-foot-2, 165-pounds, the Whalley Chiefs left-hander is quietly getting much better. When we saw him last Fall he was a slender high 70s arm. In gameplay the night prior, he was mid 80s, while still managing to keep his fastball in the 82-83 range during his short bullpen at Future Games Trials. He pairs is well with a slider/changeup combo that he threw for strikes. There's a lot more in the tank for Lakusta, who still has time to develop as a 2026 graduate with upside.
At 6-foot-2, 175-pounds with clean actions on the mound, he's got a chance to thrive if he pushes the right buttons. Lakusta's FB currently lives in the high 70s, pairing it with a soft CB/CH mix, but with added size & strength, he should see those numbers tick up over time. He also comes from athletic bloodlines.
