A right-handed hitter, wider spread out stance, stronger level path, took a solid round, 6.8 runner. Can really track it in the outfield. The arm is average, projects to be more of a left or center-fielder. Game 1, 1-3, 1 RBI, 1 RUN, SB. Game 2, 1-2, and Game 3, good at bats, collecting 2 walks. A table setter, can beat you with his legs.
Alex Benevento: OF/SS, (2024) out of New Canaan High School, CT. is a talented 5-foot-10, 175-pound outfield prospect. In the box, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 94 mph with a (70.6 mph bat speed average) and (23.9 mph hand speed average). Benevento hit out of a balanced, athletic stance with a smooth load. A controlled stride triggers a simple, flat swing that highlights his quick hands. During his rounds, Benevento found multiple barrels, and showed the ability to drive the ball gap to gap. In the outfield, he showed impressive arm with velocities up to 87 mph on his throws to bases. His footwork is athletic, the exchange is clean and he works through the ball well. Benevento also posted an impressive 60 time of 6.8.
