12/4/16

6-foot-1, 180-pound, strong, well proportioned fast twitch athlete. The hands, legs have strength, quickness and speed to them. A toolsy type player, runs throws and has above average bat speed. Fully recovered from an injury, had a tremendous workout. At the plate, this right-handed hitter, has a spread out approach, does not use a stride, keeps his weight and hands back to hit. The swing is short and compact, gets the hands to the baseball, and finishes with one hand. The approach is middle to pull, showed to have above average pop to pull side. The tee exit velocity was at 91 mph, rounds of BP were very good, solid contact in all of them. The sixty yard dash was clocked at 6.82. Defensively, attacks the baseball, gets momentum and gets through the baseball. The arm action has average length to it for an outfield arm, clocked at 81 mph, throws were on a line, with carry. Projects for me as a corner guy. One of the more athletic players in his class, needs playing time and reps, then the game will take off.

8/18/16

6-foot-1, 175-pound, long athletic frame, shoulders are sloped, neck is long, has a chance to be very physical. Recovering from a back injury that kept him off the field for much of the spring and summer, has turned the corner and looks to be back at almost full strength. A right-handed hitter, who has a spread out approach, feet are inline and hands are loose at shoulder height. The hands work freely through the zone, the swing is flat and finishes with two hands. The tee exit velocity was 91 mph, with a ton more in there. In game swings were good, collected a single and had good at bats. The lower half is under control, has a no stride approach. Times from home to first was 4.54. Defensively, routes and angles are good, the arm action is long, clean and works out of a high- ¾ slot. Throws are online and downhill. Clocked at 79 mph, with more in the tank. A PBR repeater, has a ton of potential, potentially looking to repeat a year, is a big time follow for me, stay on him.

2/14/16

6-foot, 175-pound frame, sloped shoulders, athletic build with room for continued development. Athletic right-handed hitter, shows to have above average tools. Ran a 6.98 60-yard dash, pinched his knee on the run, held him back in the outfield, arm was clocked at 74 mph. The previous workout was up to 81 mph. Aggressive to the baseball, footwork, transfer are clean ball has good flight and gives the receiver something to work with. Offensively, hits with a wider stance, is balanced throughout the swing, has a small leg kick into his stride. The hands are loose, free and creates good bat speed. The path is level, tee exit velocity registered at 88 mph, up a tick from previous workout.

12/12/15
Second PBR event for Socci and was very impressed. At 6-foot, 165-pounds the frame is athletic, limbs are long and has some fast twitch to him. At the plate, he hits from the right side and the stance is very wide and even. The hands are loose and set at shoulder height. He uses no stride and gets hands back, has a little wrap to them. Squared balls up well, shows to have plus pop to the pull side. The tee exit velocity was 85 mph and ran a 6.91 60-yard dash. Ran hard, has a good kick, with some bounce in his step. In the outfield, prep steps were good, he attacked the ball well and was very aggressive. The arm is short on the backside with no hesitation at all. The arm registered at 81 mph, was few ticks higher than his first event. Plays the game very hard, strength is a must, definite kid to follow in the next eight months.

8/26/15
A right-handed hitter, the stance is spread out, path to the ball is good. The hands work well, throws the barrel.  Took a good BP, drove the ball to both gaps.  Swung it well in the game. The tee exit velocity was advanced at 87 and the time down the line was 4.69.  Showed proper footwork in the outfield, arm was 77 on the gun.  The arm action was long and loose, pulled head a bit, didn't get through all throws.  The frame is wiry strong, has room to put added weight on.  Someone to follow, the bat has a chance.
