2/20/19

6-foot, 185-pound, strong athletic frame for his age, strength throughout put together well for his age. A right-handed hitter, spread out approach, front foot starts slightly closed off. The hands starts at shoulders, loaded up, with bat starting in a tilted position. For timing uses a bent knee into a simple stride. The approach is more to the pull side, had a tee exit velocity of 78 mph. The path gets out and around at times, needs to stay inside the baseball longer. Defensively, threw 76 mph, arm action is loose and whippy from a ¾ slot. Fielded out front correctly off left foot, used more of a shuffle for a transfer. The direction of footwork was online, throws had carry to them. Off the mound, works out of the set position. The delivery, is slower paced, coil to leg raise. The arm works out of a ¾ slot, glides out to release. The fastball was clocked at 65-69 mph, with more in there if he picks tempo up. The curveball had more horizontal break, clocked at 57 mph. Like the frame and how the arm works, needs to build strength and arm speed.
