Brayden Mazzoni: RHP/3B, (2023) Fairfield Prep, CT. 5-foot-10, 165-pound lean frame. Athletic in the box, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 87 mph. (65.81 mph bat speed average). (20.36 mph hand speed average). Began in a wide stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick stride. Bat speed was developing, displayed an uphill swing plane and good extension on his finish. He found some barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Athletic while in the infield, made throws up to 77 mph; shows athletic feet, soft hands, and a clean exchange. Laterally, movements were developing and fielded the ball out front. Showed a high ¾ slot and a long arm action with consistent accuracy to the bag. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.6. Above average on the mound, showing quick arm speed he had a high ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action. Feel type pitcher and uses some effort. Has an athletic balance point with in line shoulders. Lands closed with a clean finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 74-80 mph; had control around the zone and running action. (Max spin 1508; Avg 1374). Had a 10/4 curveball (64-65) that showed sweeping action and glove side command. (Max spin 1548; Avg 1548). His changeup had command around the zone and fading action.

Position: RHP/3B

Body: 5-foot-10, 165-pound lean frame.

Hit: (RHH) Athletic. Starts in a wide stance with a controlled load, then uses a small leg kick stride. Developing bat speed. Good extension on his finish, uphill swing. Gap to gap approach. 

Power: 87 mph exit velocity, average 77.57 mph. 65.81 mph bat speed average. 20.36 mph hand speed average.

Defense:  (IF) Soft hands, athletic footwork, clean exchange. Athletic.  Laterally, movements were developing and fielded the ball out front. 

Arm: 77 mph infield velocity. Long arm action, high ¾ slot, consistent accuracy. 

Speed: 7.60 (60-yard).

Pitching:  Above average. feel delivery, some effort. high ¾ arm angle, quick arm speed, loose arm action. Athletic balance point, in line shoulders, lands closed, a clean finish.

FB: T80. 74-80 mph. (Max spin 1508;  Avg 1374). Around the zone accuracy, running action. 

CB: 64-65 mph. Glove side control, sweeping action, 10/4 movement. (Max spin 1548; Avg 1548).

5-foot-10, 165-pound, average athletic frame, rounded shoulders, wiry strength throughout. A right-handed hitting two-way player, showed very well on both sides of the field. At the plate, feet are even, a wider setup, hands are held higher, loaded and back, bat is in a tilted setup. The lower half is calm, small pick up, gains ground, with hands back on foot strike. The swing is down to level to up, short to contact, gets through it on the backend, creating lift and loft to the baseball. The approach is from gap to gap, had an exit velocity of 92 mph, baseball comes off well. Defensively, moves well to both sides at third base, gets off the blocks quickly. The glove is soft, fields out front, clean starts on the double play ball. The arm action is clean and whippy from a natural slot, clocked at 80 mph across the diamond.  Showed feel and flow on the slow roller pro-move. Off the mound, working from set position, lift is athletic, loaded on backside, builds momentum down the mound. The arm works out of a 3/4 slot, with length on the backside. The frontside could stay inline longer to the plate, small/pull lean. The fastball was clocked at 79 mph with life and bore action to it. the breaking ball shows proper spin and shape, clocked at 67-69 mph. Solid two-way player, potential to hit at the next level.
