8/26/15
Scheid in his third PBR event, showed well again. This right-hander works from a high-¾ slot, easy delivery and is a short strider, pounded the fastball to both side of the plate. The fastball was 78-82, with some life. When he over throws it gets elevated. The spin on the curve ball has been good at all three workouts, not thrown overly hard at 68-69, can drop it in for strikes and use as a put away pitch. Shows solid feel with changeup, uses entire body to sell this pitch, good arm action. Brian has pitched a good amount this year, his velocity has stayed consistent all year in the 80-81 range. The arm is clean and the velocity should jump at some point with added strength. Is a major strike thrower and has shown the ability to pitch out of jams.
8/5/15
Right-handed pitcher, whom I have seen 3 times now. He continues to improve and show signs of making significant improvements to his pitches. Although, his velocity wasnt as good this outing, 80-81 with a 71 mph breaking ball. He did show a good feel for a straight changeup. He got a punch out on a right on right changeup that come out of his hand with the same arm speed as his fastball. The frame is wiry and needs strength to it.
7/14/15
Scheid in his second PBR event, threw the ball very well. His fastball was 80-82, and located it well to the arm side. The arm is clean, free and easy and he works out of a ¾ slot. Secondary pitches were very good, curveball was 69-72 and change up was 74-75. He had a really good feel for both pitches. Times to the plate were 1.07-1.12. When he overthrows and jerks his head, the ball gets elevated and flattens out. At some point the velocity is going to jump and with his ability to throw his secondary pitches for strikes, he is going to be good.
6/23/15
Right-handed pitcher with a loose and quick arm. 6-foot, 160-pounds with room to fill out. Fastball comes out of a slightly higher than ¾ slot and touched 81. The breaking ball is a good 12/6 spin and got to 67. Showed a high leg kick and a feel for his body as everything on him is loose. 1.16 to the plate in the stretch. Could develop velocity with added pounds on his body, as he does spin the ball well.
