12/4/16

6-foot, 200-pound, strong, physical athletic frame. The back is wide and shoulders are squared off, has a good amount of room to fill out. A right-handed hitter, the stance is slightly wider than shoulder width, feet are even and sits in a small crouch. The hands are held above his back shoulder, hands get back into a loaded position, back elbow gets elevated at times. For timing uses a small quick leg kick, the swing is level to up. The tee exit velocity was 81 mph, and ran a 7.53 sixty yard dash. The backside lower half could get involved a little more, get the back knee to drive forward, will create some more pop. The approach is more middle to pull, all rounds of BP were made with solid contact. The swing has more in there as he gets stronger and learns to use the entire body. Defensively, shows soft hands with good flow and easy carry to throws with real good touch from all angles. The feet move well throughout, gets around the baseball, moved well to both sides. The backhand play was made with ease. The arm was clocked at 68 mph, with a ton more in it. Strength and conditioning will aid in his development, good sleeper to follow.
