6/19/19

5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed pitcher and shortstop. Ran a 7.23 sixty on the laser at the event. The approach in the infield is athletic as the feet remain active throughout the process. The glove is soft and he can really throw, threw 80 mph across the diamond. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 78 mph. The setup is wide in base, steps into the swing, with minimal hand separation. The path is flat and long to contact. On the mound, the fastball sat 80-81 with arm side run. The spin pitch is 66- 67 mph, big in shape. The changeup is a developing pitch for him. The delivery is quick in tempo, online and slightly above 3/4. The lift is repeated and he stays online with the top half as he strides to the plate. He is undersized but the arm is good.

Tee Exit Velocity - 78 mph
INF Velocity- 80 mph

7/24/18

5-foot-10, 155-pound, average athletic frame, with room to fill out. A right-handed pitcher, has a simple balanced, controlled delivery. The hands start high, work down with rocker step, move back up with smooth, athletic leg raise. Weight stays over post leg, lead arm is inline to target, tracts and stays on it, is squared up on release of the baseball. The arm action is super clean on the back side, works out of a natural ¾ slot. The fastball jumps as it enters the plate, reached 79 mph, with action to the arm side. Located to both sides and at the bottom of the zone. The breaking ball has proper shape and spin, clocked at 66-69 mph, has more in there, looks to pull front side a bit, easy fix, will add depth. Times to the plate were at 1.30. Solid arm to follow, is athletic, throws a ton of strikes, look for the velocity will climb at some point.

7/17/18

5-foot-10, 155-pound, smaller athletic frame, shoulders are rounded, has room to add weight on. A right-handed hitting middle infielder. At the plate, front foot starts slightly open at shoulder width, hands are super relaxed at the shoulders, bat starting in more of a flat position. Lower half is under control, stride is simple, gains ground, hands get back into a loaded position. The swing is level to up, spraying the baseball from gap to gap. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 77 mph, with more in there as he gains strength. Time down the line was clocked at 4.52. Defensively, prep steps are correct and under control, moves to and through the baseball. The hands are soft, arm was clocked at 80 mph, has plenty of carry across the diamond. The double play feeds were quick and smooth, slow roller play was made to look easy. Strength is a must will aid in the development.

Home-First: 4.52
Exit Velocity: 77 MPH
Arm Velocity: 80 MPH

11/01/17

5-foot-9, 155 pounds, lean and athletic, slight shoulder slope, with a frame that is filling out. The delivery is easy and repeatable, throwing from a ¾ slot. The ball jumps out of his hand from a short, clean arm action. Brown gets his legs into the pitch despite having a shorter stride. He stays inline to the plate, getting downhill. Posted times to the plate from 1.44-1.49 out of the stretch. Brown’s fastball sits at 77-79 mph with ample arm side run. Filled up the zone during his bullpen session. His curveball is a plus secondary offering at the high school level. Coming in between 65-66 mph, the pitch has a 12/6 shape and is a swing-and-miss offering. The changeup, which was thrown at 68-70 mph, is a work in progress. Thrown with the same arm speed, the pitch has show-me potential. Brown’s fastball-curveball combination is the bread and butter and the high school level. With a frame that will support further velocity gains and present pitchability, Brown is an exciting prospect from the 2020 class.

9/17/17

5-foot-9,155-pound right-handed pitcher and middle infielder. On the mound, showed very well as he can spin the ball. The fastball touched 77 mph, with arm side run. The control with the fastball is average right now. The spin pitch is a breaking ball, sits at 66 mph. The spin pitch has a legit shape to it and should be an out pitch down the line. The changeup is a good, right spin and fade, sat at 67 mph. The delivery is online with his feet, uses an athletic lift and go. The tempo of the delivery is appropriate. The arm is short on the backside and quick out front. 1.59 to the plate out of the stretch, needs to incorporate a ¼ kick.  Love on the bump. Defensively, threw 73 mph across the infield. The prep steps to and through the ball need to be added into the fielding. The glove is soft and he fields the ball. Ran a 4.72 down the line on his dig to first base. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 77 mph. Hits with his feet wide, uses no load to initiate the swing. The path is flat, needs more bottom half and hand load to aid the swing. Follow on the mound.

Tee Exit Velocity- 77 mph
INF Velocity- 73 mph

7/26/17

5-foot-9, 158-pound, average athletic frame. The shoulders are rounded off, a well proportioned athlete, has plenty of room to fill out. A two-player, showed well on both sides of the field. Off the mound, this right-hander was extremely impressive, the delivery is sound, simple and repeats it with ease. The arm works out of a natural ¾ slot, arm action is super clean, short on the backside, baseball comes out of his hand well. A short strider, gets squared up on release, pitches downhill, pounds the zone with all three pitches. The fastball was clocked at 75-79 mph, with action to the arm side, look for it to continue to climb. The curveball is his best pitch, late break, good tilt, has 11/5 break to it from behind the plate, clocked at 61-64 mph, needs to be thrown harder. The changeup was thrown for strikes, clocked at 70 mph. Offensively, hits from the right side, simple balanced approach, feet are even just wider than shoulder width. The swing is flat through the zone, finishes with two hands at shoulder height. The lower half is under control, uses a small, simple stride, hands have separation from body. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 73 mph and ran a 4.35 down the line. Defensively, showed to a have ok actions, hands are soft, needs to come through the baseball more aggressively. The transfer was clean from the catch to throw, arm was clocked at 72 mph, throws were on target, had good touch. Time will tell which side of the field he ends up on, strength is a must, projects for me off the mound, has a serious chance.

Home-First: 4.35
Exit Velocity: 73 MPH
Arm Velocity: 72 MPH
