2/25/17

6-foot, 160-pounds, wide athletic frame, with plenty of room to fill out. One of the bigger surprises that we saw this winter. A right-handed hitting shortstop, projects more as a third baseman. Defensively, the hands and feet work very well together, starts low and stays through the ball, gaining momentum towards his target. The arm action is clean on the back, has average length to it, arm works out of a ¾ slot and is fluid throughout. The arm was clocked at 76 mph, with more in the tank. The actions and movements are smooth, needs to quicken everything up. The backhand play was made with ease. Offensively, hits from the right side, stance is slightly open and wider than shoulder width apart. The hands are loaded up, bat has some tilt to it, path is down to level to up, creates lift and length with his swing. The finish is high and big, could shorten it slightly.  The approach was gap to gap, peppered the back wall with one after another. Project-ability is extremely high, is raw, look for his game to take off, solid follow.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 7.34

Exit Velocity: 82 mph

Arm Velocity: 76

8/18/16

6-foot, 155-pound, long lengthy athletic frame, has plenty of room for future development. Defensively, prep steps and footwork attacking the baseball are good. Works from the ground up, feet and hands work well together, keeps feet moving throughout. First step quickness was good, got off the blocks well. The arm action is short and clean, was clocked at 72 mph, with a ton more in there. The actions are very good and are advanced for his age. Offensively, hits from the right side. The stance is even and wide, has a no stride approach with lower half. The hands start in a good position, bat is loaded up, the swing is level to up, gets through it, slightly long just after contact. The tee exit velocity was 76 mph, with more in there. Times down the line were 4.91 had a good kick. In game swings were good, made solid contact, had nothing to show for them. Strength is a must, is athletic, should take a big jump by next summer, high follow.
