8-9-17

5-foot-10, 165-pound, average athletic frame, shoulders are sloped, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed pitcher, who can spin the baseball, the slider is his out pitch, is able to throw it for strikes and use it as a putaway pitch. The delivery, is more of a hybrid motion, starts from set position, and then takes his sidestep into his controlled easy athletic leg raise, has coil to it at its peak. The arm works out of a natural ¾ slot, has average length on the backside, working from the bottom to top with arm swing. The fastball was located down in the zone, 78-80 mph, with some small action to the arm side, showed the ability to locate the fastball to outer half. The slider was clocked at 71-73 mph, more side break, looks to freeze the hitter, then put him away. Times to the plate were at 1.37. Good looking young arm, eventually arm could get lower, will be a nightmare on right-handed hitters with the slider.

3/6/17

5-foot-10, 157-pound, average athletic frame, neck is long, shoulders are sloped, has plenty of room to fill out, needs to add strength. The actions, movements of the body are smooth, loose and repeats them with ease. A strike throwing machine, all pitches are down in the zone and come out of the same slot. The delivery is repeatable, the hands start and stay low, leg raise is smooth, with some coil to it, closes down front shoulder when he gets to his gather. The stride is inline, long, gets down the mound, gets out front on release, pounds the ball down in the zone, pitches downhill. The breaking ball is his best pitch, more of a slider/slurve, clocked at 69-70 mph, thrown for a ton of strikes, can use it as a putaway pitch as well. The fastball was clocked at 76-78 mph, very good sink and run to the arm side, fastball jumped 4 mph from late fall. Throws a circle changeup, grip is loose, stays behind the ball, proper fade and shape to it. Is a sleeper, strength is a must, is relentless with the hammer, stay on him.

10/29/16

5-foot-8, 155-pound, average athletic frame, has room to fill out, shoulders are sloped, actions and hand eye coordination are very good. A left-handed hitting middle infielder, the stance at the plate is slightly wider than shoulder width, hands start even at  shoulder height, with bat flat on the back shoulder. For timing uses a leg kick, hands and weight shift back, stride is heavy and steps in just so slightly, cuts himself off at times. The swing is level to up, has some sweeping action to it. The tee exit velocity was 73 mph, and ran a 4.97. In game swings were good, collected 2 singles, has good feel for maneuvering the barrel to the ball. Defensively, has good hands, arm action is short, clocked at 70 across the diamond. Works from the ground up, could be quicker side to side, off the blocks, needs to keep moving throughout, showed a solid backhand. Off the mound, has a very simple delivery, side step rocker, into a controlled leg raise, with a clean separation. The direction is inline and is very aggressive in going after hitters. The arm action is short and clean, fastball was 73-74 mph, with sinking action to the armside. The breaking ball is more of a small slider, with late break, depth and downward break to it, it's a good pitch, clocked at 66 mph. The changeup has feel and fade to it, clocked at 66 mph as well. I love the feel he has for his pitches and knows his way around the mound. Strength is a must, if velocity jumps, has major pitchability in him.
