7/17/18

5-foot-9, 155-pound, strong athletic frame, shoulders are rounded. A fast twitch athlete, hands, wrists, forearms and legs have above average strength and quickness.  A right-handed hitting middle infielder, top tool is his overall athletic ability, and legs. At the plate, feet are even, wider than shoulder width, hands start at shoulders. The bat starts in a tilted position, for timing uses a controlled pick up a put down of front foot, hands and weight get back. The swing is level through the zone, could keep them inside the baseball tick longer. The approach is more to the pull side, has enough juice and pop to get the ball deep into the pull gap, creates backspin and loft. The tee exit velocity was at 88 mph, baseball jumps off the bat. Time down the line was at 4.64. Defensively, prep steps are under control, fields out front, easy transfer, small crow hop in the transfer to release. The arm action is clean on the back, works out of a natural ¾ slot. The arm was clocked at 77 mph across the diamond. Showed to be very smooth on the starts with the open hip double play. Big follow, has enough arm to stick on the left side, might be better suited as an outfielder long term with his ability to run ball down.

Home-First: 4.64
Exit Velocity: 88 MPH
Arm Velocity: 77 MPH

3/05/17

5-foot-9, 150-pound, thin, lengthy athletic frame, has some fast twitch actions to him, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed hitter, the stance is even, taller, hands are set at shoulder height with some movement. For timing has a no stride approach, the hands have strength and quickness to them. The swing path is level, hands get extended out, gets rotational at times, finishes the swing with two hands. The approach is more to the pull side, made solid contact in batting practice. Defensively, arm action is short, clocked at 68 mph, ball comes out of a ¾ slot. The prep steps are correct, needs to get lower and wider with feet when fielding the baseball, stay low throughout and gain ground with feet to target. The hands are soft and want to work. The athletic ability is there, needs to continue to get good reps, smooth out starts and feeds on double plays.

Exit Velocity: 78 mph
Arm Velocity: 68 mph
