Jack Sheffield: OF, (2024) New Canaan, CT. 6-foot, 150-pound lean athletic build. Smooth in the box, Sheffield clocked an exit velocity of 84 mph. (66.4 mph bat speed average). (20.0 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced tall stance with a smooth load, then uses a controlled toe tap stride. Had above average bat speed, level loose swing plane and high balanced finish. Had tons of loud contact and found multiple barrels. Gap to gap approach. Projectable from the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 75 mph; had athletic smooth footwork, a clean exchange, and soft hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot with a long loose arm action.

5-foot-11, 150-pound, average athletic frame, sloped shoulders with room for added weight gains. A right-handed hitter, simple balanced setup, lower half under control, small toe tap, transfer of weight. the swing is short to contact, with a smaller finish some rotation, needs to get through it more, will help with some lift to baseball. The approach is more middle to pull side, with line drives. The exit velocity was clocked at 85 mph. Looks to have good quick legs. Defensively, clean active feet, steps through gaining ground. The arm action is long and clean, working from a higher slot. The arm was clocked at 67 mph, all throws are downhill, were on target. Continued strength training, will aid in his development.
