6/19/19

6-foot-4, 190-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. Had a good showing at the event. Ran a 7.04 sixty on the laser at the event. The approach in the outfield is athletic and done appropriately. Threw 83 mph to the plate from right field. The ability to play a corner outfield spot at the next level is present. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 88 mph. The setup is wide in base, front foot steps to the ball. The path is slightly uphill but the hands work very well. I like the bat and the leverage is present. Very interesting player.

2/17/19

6-foot-4, 185-pound, long, lean, larger athletic frame. The shoulders are sloped, neck is long, plenty of room for future development, will be physical at some point.  A right-handed hitting first baseman/outfielder, showed equally well on both sides. At the plate, simple balanced approach, feet are even, slightly wider than shoulder width. For timing uses a simple pick up and put down with stride foot, lower half is under control. The swing is short to contact, path is level to up, gets through the baseball and finishes the swing with two hands. The approach is more middle to pull, has enough pop to get the baseball deep into the allies, had a tee exit velocity, should continue to climb. Runs above average, ran the sixty-yard dash in 6.81. Defensively, feet move extremely well around the bag at first, quick steps. The hands are soft on the catch, clean smooth picks on throws from infielders. The transfer has rhythm starting the double play. The arm works out of a high ¾ slot, clocked at 74 mph. Plenty of projection with this one.

11/01/17

6-foot-4, 185-pound, large, long, super athletic frame. The back is wide, shoulders are squared rounded off has room to fill out, should be very physical at some point. A right-handed pitcher, has tempo and rhythm to the delivery. The hands start low, raise up on with leg raise, leg raise has more swinging action to it. The weight stays on the backside, stays over the rubber and post leg, gets down the mound quickly, slightly a short strider, pitches downhill. The arm action is short and quick, works out of a high ¾ slot, baseball comes out with ease gets on hitter quick. The fastball was clocked at 79-80 mph with a ton more in there, showed to have sink and action to it. The breaking ball had slurve break to it, clocked at 70-71 mph, has hand speed to it,  chance to be an above average pitch.  The changeup is a work in progress, clocked at 73-74 mph, could develop more feel for it. Times to the plate were at 1.41, worked quickly between pitches. The frontside, could stay connected a tick longer, should help in keeping things tighter and crisp. Big time follow, get out and see him this spring.

10/28/17

6-foot-4, 185-pound, large wide, well proportioned athlete. The shoulders are squared off and back is wide, plenty of room to fill out. The top tool is his overall athletic ability and strength in his swing. At the plate hits from the right side, the feet are even at shoulder height, hands are loose at the letters, bat starts in a relaxed position. The lower half is under control, stride is straight and soft. The swing is level to up, barrel stays in the zone a long time works from gap to gap, with showing above average power to the pull side. The tee exit velocity was 88 mph, barrel has life out front and ran well with a 7.21 sixty yard dash.  Defensively, worked out at shortstop, projects more as a corner infielder, fields the baseball out front, feet more throughout, arm works from a lower slot, clocked at 74 mph. The arm has enough strength to stick on the left side of infield, needs to get off the blocks quicker, would be better suited for third base. Big time athlete, serious follow, will be interesting to see him off the mound.
