2/9/19

6-foot-4, 225-pound right-handed pitcher. Showed legit hand speed at the event. The fastball was up to 92 mph, arm side action to the pitch. The spin pitch is big in shape, sitting 72-75 mph. More than likely that will get changed to a power slider once he enters pro ball. The changeup is developing, sitting at 81-84 mph. The delivery is online with the feet, above ¾ in slot. The front side goes high and he drives into foot strike. There is effort in the delivery and the ball jumps out of his hand. He is a converted catcher who certainly made the right decision as he will be a June draft.

3/7/17

6-foot-2, 210-pound, big, wide, athletic frame. The wrists and hands have strength and fast twitch actions to them, the arm whip and arm velocity is his best tool. A right-handed hitter, the stance is balanced throughout, hands are quick and have whip out front. The feet are even, slightly wider than shoulder width apart, hands are set even at shoulder height. The hands are loose, relaxed, stay back and are short to the baseball. The swing is flat through the zone, stays through the baseball, rolls hands late and finishes with two hands at shoulder height. The lower half is under control, has minimal stride. Showed above average pop for his age, bat speed was at 89 mph, approach is gap to gap, keeping the hands inside the baseball. Took two solid rounds of batting practice peppering the back wall. Defensively, hands are soft with good flow at third base, arm was clocked at 82 mph across the diamond with plenty of life and carry to it. The arm works out of a natural ¾ slot, free and easy arm action. First step quickness is good for a big kid, feet and hands worked well starting the double play. Behind the plate, had a pop time of 2.0- 2.07, clocked at 76 mph from the chute. The feet are quick, glove arm could be stronger, flies open at times. Big time prospect, projects for me as a corner infielder, a move to the mound down the road could happen. Continued conditioning and strength training are a must.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 8.19

Exit Velocity: 89 mph

Arm Velocity: INF- 82 mph, C-76 mph

3/1/16
6-foot, 190-pound thick, wide frame, strong hands and lower half. A right-handed hitting catcher, the stance is open and gets back to even on contact. The hands are set just at his shoulders, bat angle is loaded up it a good hitting position. The stride is under control and gains ground with it. The swing path is level through the zone, tee exit velocity was 88 mph, has some whip out front. Swings the bat with authority, has pop to the pull side, needs to stay in middle of the field more. Behind the plate, his hands are strong, gets behind the ball when receiving and he gets under the low pitch well. Footwork is good, could be slightly more balanced, weight is forward. The arm action is clean, comes out of a high-¾ slot he has life and carry to throws. Clocked at 73 mph, can close down the frontside a little more. Good looking kid, fast twitch, as he gets in better condition, game will continue to climb.
