8.23.18

5-foot-11, 165-pound, thin, wiry strong athletic frame. A left-handed hitting catcher, performed well on both sides of the field. At the plate, feet are even in the box, hands are loose set at the shoulders, back elbow gets extended at times. The swing is flat through the zone, lower half is under control and uses a simple stride. The approach is more line drive from field to field, had a tee exit velocity of 84 mph and ran a 7.58 on a slow track. Defensively, had a pop time of 2.03-2.07 and arm was clocked at 73 mph. Looks to enjoy being behind the dish, works hard at his craft, hands are soft on the catch, gets around the baseball and sticks the pitch. The footwork is controlled and simple in the transfer. Strength is still a must, solid catch and throw player, with knowledge of the game.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 7.58

Exit Velocity: 84 MPH

5-foot-11, 165-pound, average athletic frame, has room to fill out and put weight on. A left-handed hitting catcher, stance is eider, with hands at the letters and back elbow slightly raised. The lower half is under control, picks foot up and places it back down. The swing is level through the zone, keeps the barrel in the zone a long time, hands inside the baseball, looks to spray the baseball all over the field. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 83 mph and was clocked down the line at 4.48. Defensively, moves well behind the plate, is relaxed is the set up, hands are soft on the catch with a clean smooth transfer. Teh pop time was 2.09-2.11 and the arm was clocked at 72 mph, from an athletic slot. Throws were on the bag, showed good vocal skills and worked well with pitchers. Solid follow.

Exit Velocity: 83 MPH

Arm Velocity: 72 MPH

PROCASE

5-foot-11, 160-pound left-handed hitting catcher.  Ran a 7.49 sixty on the laser at the event and showed good athletic movements throughout the event. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 85 mph, physical strength is needed to aid the development of his offensive game. Hits out of a wide stance, high back elbow and small bend in the legs. The bat path is long to the ball, flat as he gets to the zone. Small bat wrap should be eliminated to help the length of the swing. Uses a small pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches. Showed ability to stay on the ball in the batting practice session. The receiving behind the dish is solid, securing the catch needs to continue to develop. The arm has 70 mph velocity from behind the dish, that needs to improve with a long toss program. Pop time of 2.13 down to second base as the feet need to be cleaned up and quicken. Did a solid job at the event.

Tee Exit Velocity- 85

Catching Pop Time- 70 mph

Catching Velocity- 2.13
