Ryan Sweeney: RHP/OF, (2027) Darien, CT. 6-foot, 180-pound athletic strong frame. Raw projectable in the box, Sweeney had an exit velocity of 86 mph. (70.1 mph bat speed average). (20.8 mph hand speed average). Began in a wide balanced stance with a tight compact load, then used a short stride. Bat speed is explosive, shows a short upward swing plane and a back foot finish. Found some barrels with some loud contact. Up the middle opposite field approach. Solid projectable in the outfield, his best throw of the day was clocked at 78 mph; has developing quick feet, soft hands, and a twitchy exchange. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot. Recorded a 60 time of 7.13 at the event. Projectable on the mound, showing quick arm speed he had a high ¾ arm angle with a long loose arm action. Tall-and-fall up-tempo type pitcher and shows some effort. Showed strong balance point with in line shoulders. Lands square with an athletic balanced finish. Curveball (54-55 mph). Threw his fastball 76-78 mph; has sinking action and arm side control. (Max spin 1996; Avg 1864). Showed early tilt action and down in the zone command on his 2/8 slider (60-61). (Max spin 1944; Avg 1939).
