9/23/18

5-foot-155-pound, smaller, strong athletic frame. A well proportioned athlete, has strength throughout. Committed to Southern CT State University, a right-handed hitting middle infielder, better suited long term at second base. The top tool is his defensive game, arm is fast and quick, clocked at 82 mph across the diamond. The strength is good enough to stick on the left side, arm has the ability to be a weapon turning double plays on the second base side. The hands are soft on the catch, works low to the ground and feet move throughout. The pro move was super smooth and fluid. The turns from both sides of the bag were performed correct and on time. At the plate, simple, balanced approach, hands are loose above the shoulders with bat starting in a tilted position. The lower half is under control, small pick up and put down with front foot. The swing is flat through the zone, keeps the barrel in the zone, looks to shoot the baseball from gap to gap. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 81 mph and ran a 7.31 sixty yard dash, plays quicker than the time. Good pick up for SCSU.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 7.31

Exit Velocity: 81 MPH

Arm Velocity: 82 MPH

6/20/17

5-foot-7, 155-pound, strong, well put together athletic frame. The hands, wrists and lower half have good strength to him, a fast twitch athlete. A right-handed hitting middle infielder. At the plate, feet are slightly wider than shoulder width, open just a bit, hands are even and loose at shoulder height. They start in a tilted position, grip is loose in fingers. For timing has a small leg kick, which helps keep the weight back and generates power. The swing is flat through the zone, flicks the barrel, has good pop and finishes the swing with two hands at shoulder height. The approach is gap to gap, a line drive swing, took two solid rounds of batting practice and squared one ball up after another in game play. The tee exit velocity was 82 mph, and ran a 4.63 down the line. Defensively, has a simple, clean approach to and through the baseball. The hands are soft, fields out front, feet and hands work well together and keeps the feet moving throughout. The backhand play was made with easy effort, uses his legs very well, gets low and sees the baseball into the glove. The arm action is clean and works out of a ¾ slot with plenty of carry to it, clocked at 80 mph. The slow roller pro move was made with ease, fielded with two hands and threw it on the run. Off the mound, has a sound, simple delivery, hands start high, they stay high and gets to a good gather position, staying over the backside. The separation is on time, is closed and balanced on foot strike, minimal pull with the front  glove. The fastball was clocked at 74-78 mph, after playing all day has more in there, breaking has good 11/5 break to it, has tilt and rotation is good, clocked at 64 mph. Good looking prospect, chance to be an offensive second baseman.

Home - First: 4.63

Exit Velocity: 82 mph

Arm Velocity: 80 mph

1/21/2017

5-foot-7, 155-pound, strong well proportioned athlete. The frame is on the smaller side, but the hands, forearms and legs have strength and fast twitch actions to them, is very athletic. A right-handed hitter, the stance is slightly open and feet are wider than shoulder width. The hands start just above the back shoulder, bat has some tilt to it, great starting position. For time uses a controlled leg kick, gains ground with the stride, does a very good job of keeping his hands back. The swing is flat through the zone, stays through the ball well, barrel has some whip to it out front, finishes with one hand. The finish is lower than shoulder height, looks like he slows down at times during the finish, let the hands finish themselves, have more in the swing. The tee exit velocity was 83 mph and ran a 7.4. Defensively, shows above average actions, footwork is advanced throughout, gets around the baseball and gets momentum going toward his target. The feet and hands work together in transfer, no wasted movement. The arm action is short, quick and has some hand speed to it, clocked at 78 mph across the diamond, has some life to it. The starts and feeds on the double play were smooth with movements. Off the mound, attacked the catcher at a high level. The arm works out of a natural ¾ slot, fastball was clocked at 78-79 mph, ball gets on the hitter quick. The fastball jumps out of his hand, has heavy action to the arm side. The breaking ball is more of a curve ball, clocked at 63-64 mph, has the correct tilt to it, with depth. The changeup was clocked at 71 mph, with movement to the arm side. Times to the plate were at 1.34. The lower half could be used more, lot of arm is used during the delivery. Big time follow for me, projects as a middle guy, might have to make a move to second, the arm could be a weapon in turning double plays.
