2/19/20 - Florida Atlantic commit. 6-foot-4, 225 pound right hander. Fastball was 89-92 with avg life.  Curveball had ¾ rotation at 74-75 mph. Flashes some sweep at 77 mph. Both rotate well, and the pitch projects to a little better than avg.  Competed well with aggressive strikes (vs Lemieux in front of a packed house of scouts).  Came out after 3 innings pitched, as umpire was struck with a bat, and game was delayed for over 30 minutes.

2/3 - Big strong athletic body with high thick hips and long loose arms. Similar to Lee Smith. Loose easy working arm with a high 3/4 slot. Fluid delivery with good rhythm. Lands slightly across body. Gets over front consistently with good tilt on his FB at 88-91 mph. CV was 73-75 mph with 3/4 tilt. Mostly avg but flashed above avg. There's more velo in there. Will be a power arm. Could become a good 2015 draft. Tonight 3 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 3 K.

6/26/14 - Smith has a big, strong frame with looseness. His command was spotty, but he has an easy delivery, sitting 90-91 and touching 93 early, before settling in at 87-90. He tended to fly open in his delivery, but he gets some arm-side life to his fastball and flashes sharp break on a 76-79 curveball. Will be a good 2015 draft.
