Comments
09/30/17- 6-foot-3, 240 pound C/RHP is a big and strong and has continued to lean down the big frame since last year. Defensively, he moves well, especially for his size. There is flexibility and strength with a strong arm, topping out at 79 mph and pop times ranging from 2.09-2.14. Offensively, the big right handed hitter uses his hands well. A leg kick trigger and rhythm in his hands pre pitch. The hands work well out in front, but could see big benefits in power with better use from the lower half which would level out the path some too. On the mound, he lands in line throwing from a 3/4 slot. He could use more leg drive, but the fastball worked 80-82 mph, with a curveball at 69-71 mph and a changeup at 65-58 mph. He struck out two in his one innings of work.
12/15/16- Strong, thick build on a large frame standing at 6-foot-3, 240 pounds. During batting practice he displayed above average bat speed while making hard, loud contact as he drove the ball with authority. Ball jumps off the bat and showed some power.
09/17/16- The 6-foot-2, 240 pound right handed pitcher had a simple and smooth delivery on the mound. He throws with an easy over the top arm action and his fastball ranged from 75-76 mph with his breaking ball at 66 mph. He through a lot of strikes, but will need to improve his velocity and off speed movement to compete at the next level. Offensively, the right handed hitter generates bate speed and is a big strong kid. He could generate some more power by using the lower half more and leveling out the steepness in the swing. He generated an exit velocity of 81 mph. Defensively, he showed accurate throw with an average arm, topping at 72 mph from behind the plate. His pop times ranged from 2.1.9-2.27 that could improve with improved footwork and quicker transfer.
