10/11/18- Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-10, 140 pounds with a wiry, athletic frame. Shows quick twitch, athletic actions all over the field. Clocked in at 6.63 seconds for his 60 yard dash time which tied for the fastest time of the event. From the outfield, he shows a quick first step and is aggressive to the ball, fielding it out in front and under control. Can chase down the ball into the gaps. Showed above average hand speed and strong throws which were on line and accurate to the bag, showing carry and topping out at 85 mph. Offensively, he is a switch hitter and shows loose, quick hands from both sides of the plate. From the right side, he shows a whippy, quick swing that shows some gap-to-gap potential when he stays back and direct to the ball. From the left side, there is some steepness, but some present bat speed. Registered an 82 mph exit velocity in the cage. Long still has plenty of room to fill out and as he continues to strengthen his frame, it will improve his overall game which paired with his present athleticism, which make him an intriguing follow going forward.
