06/03/18- Long and lean at 6-foot-4, 175-pounds, Mandes has a projectable frame that should continue filling out quickly in the future which will potentially give him a chance to see bigger jumps moving forward. The right-hander exhibited a more polished delivery which remains compact throughout, and allowed him to repeat his high ¾ slot with ease. His fastball sat 85-88 during his outing, and showcased some downhill plane as he controlled it in the zone, and showed some feel for moving it around. At times, his 75-77 slider showed sharp, later break, and looks to have a chance to be a potential weapon in the future. Overall, certainly looks the part on the mound, and if given the chance to progress, some college program may receive a future starter.
