10/12/18 - Hillsborough CC commit. 6-foot-4, 185-pound right-handed pitcher works with a compact, short in the back, high 3/4 arm action. The velocity was a bit down at 85-87 mph, but the fastball shows tilt and life in the zone. Showed a 70-72 mph curveball and struck out two in his two innings of work.
01/27/18- Hillsborough CC recruit. Stands at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds. Has broad shoulders and long arms on a projectable frame. Has a shorter arm action in the back and a high front side. Creates tilt, with the fastball working mostly 87-89 mph. While it's early in the year, he dropped off a bit to 85-87 in the second and is primed overall for a big jump as he continues to add strength to the projectable frame. He showed a command of the fastball and also a feel of a curveball at 70-73 mph with depth and a strait change at 81-83 mph. He struck out two in his two innings of work. Overall there are present tools and everything projects well. Should see big jumps with innings and strength.
10/24/17- Came out of the pen for the Dodgers Scout Team/Team Citius and worked two scoreless innings during its 5-2 win over the Louisiana Knights. The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder features long arms and a young build. His fastball topped at 89 mph, sitting in the 86-87 range, while also throwing an effective 74-75 mph slider for strikes. In two innings, he struck out three with one walk and no hits.
09/30/17- At 6-foot-3, 185 pound right handed pitcher has long legs and high waist. He has the prototypical projectable pitcher's frame. He has a short, clean, high 3/4 arm action. He lands in line and is mechanically sound. The fastball worked consistently 87-89 mph with late life and worked downhill. There is a lot to like and as e becomes stronger and continues to learn how to get extension he should make some big jumps. He showed quality shape at 74-75 mph, he got around the pitch quite a bit and would become sharper getting extended with his fingers on top of the baseball. He showed a feel, with good arm speed, of a fading changeup. Striking out four in two innings, he has a feel for pitching with an extremely high upside.
08/06/17- The 6-foot-3, 180-pound right-handed pitcher has a high waist, long arms and big hands. The frame really projects to continue to fill out. He has a half circle arm swing and works from a high 3/4 slot. It is a clean, repeatable arm action that is quick. He lands consistently in line and overall shows a repeatable delivery. He fastball worked 86-89 mph with tilt and late life with occasional arm side run. The curveball has tight spin and depth from 73-76 mph and projects to be a swing and miss pitch. Also showed a straight changeup at 80 mph. Leroy struck out one in two innings and everything works clean and easy. He has a repeatable motion with a high upside and should remain durable.
