08/02/17- Committed to University of Central Florida.
06/28/17- With a frame prime to shoot up a few inches and add fifteen pounds, the projection is there. Presently, he works from a high 3/4 slot, with a slight drop and drive, he gets quality use from the lower half and could gain even more. The arm works quick and is a clean easy arm action. His fastball ranged from 84-86 touching 88 mph, with tight spin and life. Lands in line consistently with a clean footstrike. The slider also shows tight spin, with hard downward two-plane action and potential to be a swing and miss pitch at 74-76 mph. Also featured a straight changeup, with quality arm speed that ranged from 81-83 mph. There is a lot of upside and projects to have the ability to start at the next level.
05/28/17 - Long arms, he has a lot of whip in the arm action from a tough 3/4 slot. Fastball worked mostly 84-86 mph, but when he was on time with his separation and got his extension, he would touch 88 and 89 mph. He showed a sweeping slider at 77 with potential. Super projectable and has a chance to make some big jumps.
01/08/17- 5-foot-11, 157 pounds with a lean, projectable build and athleticism. Stands on the outside part of the rubber where he has a simple, repeatable delivery throwing out the low ¾ arm slot. Quick arm with good extension out in front. Fastball sat 83-85 mph with run along with a slider that had hard bite sitting at 75-77 mph. Also mixed in a 78-79 mph change up that had some sink. Gathers himself well. Look for Janney to have a jump in velocity as he continues to mature and log more innings.
9/23/16 - An athletic and projectable right handed pitcher. He showed a clean and easy arm action with a fastball that ranged from 82-84 mph. He still has a lot of room to grow and fill out and would expect the velocity to make a jump soon.
