2/2/16 - Strong body guy that showed good catch and throw skills with plus arm. Bat was a bit light.
11/7/15 - Verbally committed to St. Louis University
10/6/15- Strong, athletic, and projectable body. Good base at the plate with an open stance. Relaxed, has rhythm, gets a separation for his load and leg kick for stride. Some loft in his swing with good bat speed. 1.86 down to second with an above average arm.
7/1/15 - Quick release defensively, effort in throw, game accuracy was an issue. Offensively, open setup, leg kick, length in swing with some quickness in his hands.
10-3-2018: High energy leader from behind the dish. Displayed a plus arm during I/O with fringe accuracy and 1.95 POP times, but was not challenged during his six innings behind the dish in the game. Received and blocked well on turf. Showed bat strength with some length to his swing. Well behind two fastballs during his first at-bat, then smoked a single into right-centerfield on a two-strike, 91 mph fastball. Also added a hard hit single off a diving third baseman’s glove his last at-bat. Hernandez should attract plenty of interest by pro scouts this spring and could be considered during Day Two this June. (Seifert)
