4/19/19:Six-foot-4, 195 pound athletic, electric armed righty who, in short time, has undergone an amazing transformation from long armer with an extreme hooking arm path and a 91-94 mph fastball to a bow-and-arrow short armer with an explosive 96-99 mph fastball (99.515 mph according to TrackMan) with a spin rate range of 2480-2610 rpm. Many scouts don't think arm path can be changed, but Schultz's story runs contrary to that belief. In order to make such a drastic change to arm action, a pitcher must possess three abilities: Athleticism. Aptitude. Willingness for change. Schultz has all three. He's a really good athlete with a problem-solving mind and high motivation to improve. On this look he entered the game with a runner on second base, two outs and two strikes on the batter. Unleashed a first-pitch slurve for a swinging strikeout to end the inning. It was a near average pitch at 84 mph. All subsequent breaking balls were below average in quality with a rainbow break at 83-84 mph and average spin rate of 2540 rpm. Schultz profiles to the back end of a MLB bullpen and could be a quick mover through the lower levels of a minor league system with further development of his breaking pitch. (Seifert)

8/5/18:Low three-quarter slot slinger with a 91-94 mph fastball. Long, hooking arm path with rotational delivery. Near max effort, landed off-balance with scissor finish to first base side. Worked his 2300 rpm spin rate fastball mainly to his armside with some bore to right-handed hitters. Struggled at times throwing strikes. May have more success pitching up in zone with his low slot and slightly above average spin rate fastball. Also flashed an occasional flat slider at 82-84 mph. (Seifert)
