The two-way ability for the Georgia Highlands commit played a major factor in the outcome of Ola topping Starr’s Mill on opening night. The LHH stays well-connected at the plate with present strength throughout the physical 6-foot-0, 225-pound frame. Came through with one of the biggest swings of the night as he fired a 2 RBI double down the right-field line. On the mound, Long showed quality pitchability as he struck out 8 across 5.0 IP of 1-hit ball in a win. Fastball sat 78-80 and changeup tunneled extremely well off it with late-depth and swing-and-miss in-the-zone at 72-73. Curveball was flipped over with some depth at 70-71 as well. Long will be a major two-way factor and key piece for the Mustangs this Spring as he started his year on a high note with a standout showing on opening night.
