Uncommitted. Has another impressive outing this summer. He seems to always produce quick outs with soft contact. His short and quick arm is really deceiving for all hitters. With an upper 80’s fastball topping out at 88 plays really well in the zone, have seen him up to 90. He is able to flip in a breaking ball to keep hitters off balance. His ability to command the bottom half of the zone is a real tool of his with both pitches. Has good explosive movements down the mound. Exciting arm in the 2024 class.
Positional Profile: RHP/SS Potential to throw really hard.
Body: 5-11, 155-pounds. High waist, long arms for height. Medium frame.
Delivery: Medium to fast paced. Compact delivery who moves quickly through delivery with intent. Stacks backside well. Leaves backside earlier than he needs to in stride.
Arm Action: RH. Efficient, short circle arm action from H3/4 slot.
FB: T87.7, 85-87 mph. Carry, some run arm side. T2281, 2110 average rpm.
CB: 68-70 mph. Sharp w/ sweep and 2 plane depth when his chest stays balanced over balls of feet in stride. T2214, 2154 average rpm.
CH: 73-76 mph. some fade. T1875, 1712 average rpm.

Hits: LHH. Medium base, slightly open with good rhythm in hips & hands. Well timed separation. Good feel for inside out swing, can manipulate barrel to different pitch locations.
Power: 85 max exit velocity, averaged 77.3 MPH. 282' max distance. Line drives to both gaps.
Arm: RH. INF-90 mph.Short circle arm action H3/4 slot. Tons of arm speed.
Defense: Solid footwork, sure hands and positioning.
Run: 7.16 runner in the 60.
GA Preseason All State
Took big steps to becoming a more complete pitcher at PAS23. Few pitchers work harder off the field than Ewaldsen, as he is very focused on strength training, arm care, and developing his pitches. It was very encouraging to see his CB with such consistent shape, which is to an extent what we’ve been waiting on for Collin to show. Keeping chest balanced over feet in stride sharpened the 70-72 CB w/ sweep & 2 plane depth. FB worked in 85-88 range up to 21 IVB. CH 74-77 fade. This is a serious athlete who’s pound for pound one of the strongest players in the class weight room wise. He has an efficient, short circle arm action with explosive arm speed. It’s only a matter of time until he keeps it connected with the back side in stride and makes a jump in velocity.
