Uncommitted. Rice was a workhorse on the mound Tuesday night. He showed a three-pitch mix with quality movement on each offering. The firm FB sat 84–86 and held its velocity throughout the outing, featuring late life and ride through the zone. The CH plays well off the fastball with consistent arm speed and good separation. The SL has depth, with the ability to land it for strikes or expand the zone to generate chase. Rice pitches with an edge, competes on every pitch, and is N2K in the 2028 class.At the plate, he shows a sound approach with pull-side power. The chase rate needs to come down, but when he stays in the zone, he produces loud contact with impact to the pull gap. He shows strength through contact and has the ability to drive the ball out front with authority. Solid defender at 1B with good footwork and the ability to move well for his frame.
Rice looked very mature as a sophomore in the box hitting for a solid Jones County squad. The 6'2 lefty displays a large, physical frame in the box and on the mound. Power was on display to both sides of the field with hard line drives down the LF line as well as in the RCF gap. The hip mobility and hand path allow for Rice to really center the ball up. Small leg kick with great forward movement to contact will provide gap to gap ability with plenty in the swing to get the ball out of the yard. Quiet hands pre-pitch with great acceleration throughout the swing. Will be a must follow in the 2028 class.

Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 79.7 mph. 363' max distance.
Arm: LH. INF-81 mph. Snappy, 3/4 throws. Strong and accurate.
Defense: Very solid base and moves well at 1B.
