It’s easy to see the “pure hitter” vibes that Schmakel gives off. Showing up in every setting that we see him the RHH continued that trend as he lived on the barrel Friday afternoon. Displaying fluid hands and possessing a great feel for the zone, Schmakel sets forth an easy rhythm in the box that allows him to be able to spray the ball to all-fields. Above-average barrel skills stand out with present bat speed to match. The sophomore's presence in the box is prominent, holding a relaxed approach with a low-heart beat no matter the situation. Already showing a real feel to hit there is strength to project on as well within the athletic 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame. As well as carrying loud tools behind the plate with advanced actions. Exhibiting athleticism in the crouch and throughout, along with presenting strong receiving and the ability to block baseballs in the dirt. Schmakel looks to be every part of a 4 year impact player for the Leopards and is a high follow name with plenty of projection remaining.
