GA Preseason All-State

Body: 6-0, 185-pounds. Thick frame, strength throughout.
Hit: RHH. Balanced setup, hands cock and load back, leg lift stride, good balance through finish. Swing path is mostly short to the zone, can get long at-times, uphill through, middle/pull hitter, able to drive the ball pull-side when he gets extension.
Power: 86.00 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Arm: RH. C - 70.00 mph. INF - 76.00 mph. Arm action is short to low 3/4 slot on the infield, short to a 3/4 slot behind the plate.
Defense: 2.25-2.33 pop times. On the infield, plays through the back, smooth footwork, clean on transfers, confident glove hand. Behind the plate, box setup, short footwork, clean on transfers.
Run: 8.04 runner in the 60.

5-foot-11, 175-pound right-handed hitting catcher, strong build, has added a considerable amount to his frame over the last year. Offensively, balanced setup, hands load back, leg lift stride, finishes balanced and tall. Takes a middle/pull approach, can elevate the ball with power to left field, more line drive contact when going back up the middle into the gaps, 81 exit velocity. Ran a 7.94 laser-timed 60. Defensively, short arm action, over-the-top slot, kept throws around second base, 76 from the crouch. Clean on transfers and footwork, gains ground on transfers working towards second, 2.06-2.21 pop times.

5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed hitting catcher and shortstop, athletic build with compact strength. Offensively, balanced setup, hands cock on load bringing barrel upright, leg kick timing trigger, great balance throughout. Swing is short and quick to the zone, fast hands get the barrel out, looks to use middle/pull, showed a multi-faceted approach, shortened up to a line drive swing when behind in counts, using the middle of the field, early on or when ahead elevated the ball to the pull-side with more pop than one would expect.

Pelzer is a good looking athlete behind the plate at 6-foot, 170-pounds.  He shows smooth fluid actions in the box and behind the plate.  Offensively Pelzer gets nice easy extension out of a upright open stance.  He stays narrow throughout and never really engages his legs and leaves intrigue as to how much more is in there (79 exit velocity). Defensively he does things pretty easy and is light on his feet.  Probably the most accurate thrower at the event, Pelzer pop times were also impressive (2.06-2.21).  Will have a close eye out for Pelzer going forward.

5-foot-11, 165 pounds. One of the most consistent bats of the weekend. Had multiple multi-hit games. Made great contact, and consistently hit the ball hard. Gets the front foot up and down and gets the barrel out. Great bat control and timing against all velos. Stays up the middle, but can hit the ball the other way when needed. Can catch and play SS, which means he could play anywhere on the field. Has a quick, strong arm, saw him throw out multiple guys trying to steal. Really fun player to watch.
