Augusta commit. Rahm was given the bump and 3-hole in the midweek matchup against North Forsyth and he delivered in a big way on both sides. He showed a highly competitive look as he confidently attacked 1-9 with a 3 pitch mix. His FB was very firm at 85-88, touching 89 twice and some ASR that induced weak contact as well as swing and miss. His SL was the go to breaker as it had tight spin and a good range of 73-78, really able to mess with hitters’ timing. On occasion he threw the CH to show the North bats another look with quality movement. He finished with 7IP, 7Ks, 3H, and only 1ER. At the dish, it was a 2-2 day with two well struck balls right UTM. The first AB kept an aggressive 1st inning for Alpharetta going, and his next AB was very impressive as he was quickly down 0-2, then worked a BB on 10 pitches. His last AB came in a key spot, tied late he got the barrel to a low pitch for his second 1B. The physical 6-foot-1, 194 pound pitcher showed 2-way ability and an overall gamer attitude as he went all 7 and pushed the game into extras before weather suspended play.
